After literal years in development hell and a few false starts, Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s Locke & Key is FINALLY heading our way thanks to Netflix. We know that because they have been seemingly looking to cast every actor ever in it.
Felix Mallard joins the massive cast as Lucas Caravaggio, as reported by both Variety and Bloody Disgusting. Lucas is a resident of Matheson who runs afoul of the dark magic surrounding the Locke Family’s ancestral home. Mallard was last seen charming studio audiences on CBS’ Happy Together, so readers of the comics will appreciate what a dark turn this will be for the young actor.
Mallard joins *takes a deep breath* Petrice Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Griffin Gluck, Darby Stanchfield, and Laysla De Oliveira in the first season, which will run for ten episodes.
At this point, as a Locke & Key fan, I’ve adopted a strict “I’ll Believe It When I See It” policy when it comes to this particular franchise’s adaptation, but things are looking pretty good for this one! How about you? Have you read the Hill and Rodriguez-created IDW series? Did you ever get a chance to see the amazing Miranda Otto-starring pilot? How likely are you to binge this?
