We are living in a Golden Age of Stephen King Adaptations.
We have the Creepshow reboot over on Shudder, all manner of features, and now? It seems APPLE is throwing their hat into the ring.
The Hollywood Reporter reports (I am so sorry) that their new fledgling streaming service, Apple +, has snagged a big budget adaptation of Stevie King’s Lisey’s Story. Released in 2006, Lisey’s Story tells the tale of a recent widow who may have not known everything about her husband.
But APPLE seems to be bringing the star power for this series, attaching the queen Julianne Moore to star. Not only that, but the man himself will be scripting all eight episodes of the series, which will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company.
No word yet on who is directing the series, but THW is reporting that Abrams’ is seeking all manner of “high-profile” directors for the series.
Full disclosure, I haven’t read this book, but I am 1000% there for anything and everything starring Julianne Moore. Plus, the fact that King himself is writing this is pretty great.
But what do y’all think? Do you like this book? Is this enough for you to get Apple +? What other King stuff would you like to see adapted? Let us know in the comments below.
