I really love Zoe Lister-Jones. I love her in network sitcoms. I love her Instagram. I love her dry-ass sense of humor.
Basically, I just love her whole deal.
And now, I have another reason to love her! Variety has reported that she has signed on to both write AND direct the upcoming remake of The Craft for Sony and Blumhouse.
I know mentioning the word “remake” will raise some hackles. And honestly, I didn’t even know this one was on the table. BUT, that said, Blumhouse’s involvement has me really interested.
As does Lister-Jones’s involvement! She has been steadily building a pretty solid indie filmography over the years and even has a bit of horror bonafides as the writer of Consumed, a nasty little thriller about GMOs. Plus this needed to be written and directed by a woman. I wouldn’t have paid attention otherwise.
But what do you think, fellow weirdos? Does Blumhouse being behind this fill you with the hope that it does me? What’s your favorite episode of Life in Pieces? Let us know in the comments below.
